What might be happening in this South America of the beginning of the century? The socio-political moment is unique, without the slightest doubt. But, how to portray the spirit of what is happening in a single film? Three years ago, the director Gonzalo Arijón asked himself these questions to finally take his camera in one hand, several texts by Eduardo Galeano in the other (among them Open Veins of Latin America, the very book that Chávez gave Obama), and undertook his trip. He visited Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Uruguay... in order to know and understand better those men and women who, from their daily battles, forged this unique historical moment. A journey that aims to be as political as it is poetic.
